Error Message: Xerox Invalid Hostname
Scan to Email on a Xerox can be a tricky thing. There are a few settings that need to be changed in order for it to work properly. If you followed the article HERE on how to setup Gmail as your scan to email and now you are receiving the error “Invalid Hostname”, here is how you fix it.
Using the web portal, go to the Centreware Control Panel.
– Go to Connecticity
– Then Setup
– Then TCP/IP Settings
– Then DNS
Inside the DNS Settings
– Requested Host Name is filed out by Default
– Requested Domain Name is blank by Default
– Type = WORKGROUP
– Scroll down to DNS Server Address
– Type in the first blank 8.8.8.8
– Type in the second blank xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (the same ip address of your DNS server – which is probably your default gateway for your router/modem)
Reboot the device and you should be able to scan to email now.
